Cookie notice.
Last updated 7 August 2026
A cookie is a small file a site stores in your browser. We set cookies on kaizenrise.io for analytics, and the Microsoft Clarity script brings with it cookies that Microsoft uses for its own advertising and operational purposes. We do not set cookies for logins, carts, or payments, because this site has none of those. This page lists every cookie we know about and what each one does. For the wider picture of what we collect, read the privacy policy.
Why we set them
We run two services. Google Analytics 4 tells us which pages people read and how they move through the site. Microsoft Clarity records behavioral metrics, heatmaps, and session replay, which reconstructs how a visit moved through a page. Microsoft also sets cookies that serve its advertising and operational purposes, listed below as third party cookies.
None of these are strictly necessary for the site to work. If you block them, every page still functions normally.
The cookies we set
Transcribed from Google’s cookie documentation and Microsoft’s Clarity cookie documentation. If either vendor changes what they set, this table follows.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics | Used to distinguish users. Expires after 2 years by default. | First party |
| _ga_NNL551XETR | Google Analytics | Used to persist session state. Expires after 2 years by default. | First party |
| _clck | Microsoft Clarity | Persists the Clarity user ID and preferences, so activity on this site is attributed to the same user ID. | First party |
| _clsk | Microsoft Clarity | Connects multiple page views by a user into a single Clarity session recording. | First party |
| CLID | Microsoft Clarity | Identifies the first time Clarity saw this user on any site using Clarity. | Third party |
| ANONCHK | Microsoft | Indicates whether MUID is transferred to ANID, a cookie used for advertising. Clarity does not use ANID, so this is always set to 0. | Third party |
| MR | Microsoft | Indicates whether to refresh MUID. | Third party |
| MUID | Microsoft | Identifies unique web browsers visiting Microsoft sites. Used for advertising, site analytics, and other operational purposes. | Third party |
| SM | Microsoft | Used in synchronizing the MUID across Microsoft domains. | Third party |
Cookies we do not control
The booking section on our contact page embeds a Google Calendar appointment scheduler. That embed is served by Google and may set its own cookies inside the frame, governed by the Google Privacy Policy rather than by this notice.
How to turn them off
Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies, usually under privacy settings. Blocking them stops both analytics services from identifying your visits. You can also install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on to stop Google Analytics across every site you visit, and use the Microsoft Privacy Statement to manage the Microsoft advertising cookies listed above.
